Celebrating ESP, Teacher Appreciation Days

NEA created American Education Week to spotlight the importance of providing every child in America with a quality public education from kindergarten through college.

This week, MSEA leaders stepped out with Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Governor Martin O’Malley, NEA President Dennis Van Roekel, Montgomery County Superintendent Jerry Weast, and others to celebrate American Education Week at Montgomery Blair HS in Silver Spring.

Honoring ESP

In honor of Education Support Professionals Day, MSEA hosted an event honoring ESPs from across the state. President Clara Floyd read the official ESP Day proclamation from Governor O’Malley, and attendees heard poetry and speeches recognizing the crucial work performed by ESP every day.
