We invite you to join our 2011 legislative campaign, Keep the Promise, to rally around three critical issues for Maryland students and educators—pensions, school funding, and educator evaluations. 

		Pensions Thanks to poor long-term planning, legislators are considering deep cuts to your pension benefits, breaking the promise of a secure retirement for educators.
		School Funding To close Maryland’s budget gap, legislators are considering across the board cuts to school funding, breaking the promise of providing our children and schools with the resources they need to thrive.
		Educator Evaluations The State Board of Education has attempted to dictate to local school systems how to formulate their evaluation systems, breaking the promise of local control of educator evaluations.

Legislators and the general public must hear from members in their districts and communities—your voices as leaders in the classroom are the most compelling and most powerful. You know full well the devastating impact that breaking these promises would have on our children and schools.
