MSEA’s Early Career Educator network is a community created by and for Maryland’s early career education professionals. Being an educator is exciting and hard work and the pressures are often unexpected and relentless. Join this network to hear from other early educators about how to make an positive impact on your students and the profession inside and outside your classroom.
Although there will be some general sessions, most of the summit will be in a roundtable format where new teachers can ask questions and join the discussion with colleagues from around the state.
Agenda highlights include:
- Roundtable sessions on a variety of topics including: building classroom culture and management, delivering differentiated instruction strategies, becoming a trauma-informed educator, teaching English Language Learners and Special Needs students, and developing home/school relationships
- General sessions—Maryland State Department of Education Certification requirements; New Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Tool
- Opportunities to network and build a professional community
Sign-in will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast. Lunch is included. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
MSEA members with less than 5 years of experience are encouraged to attend. Please note this does not mean new to a school, district or Maryland – this summit is for new to the profession.
Pre-registration is open until November 15, 2019 or until all spaces are filled.
